Broken remote control

I purchased a TV on the 27th Aug 2023. The remote control lasted 8 months. I called LG to get a replacement remote but they said that the guarantee is for 6 months and they cannot do anything about it. I was not informed that the guarantee was only for 6 months. I am a pensioner and cannot buy a remote every 6 months. My previous remote lasted several years before it stopped working.
