Bad quality product
After spending R8000 in July 2011 on an LG 42LE4500 TV, one would expect a good quality product. In September 2014, the TV screen started going black after a couple minutes of being on, then wouldn't stay on at all. Although when shining a torch on the screen one could still see the picture. We sent the TV to an approved LG repair provider in our area on the 22nd of September and ended up having to pay a further R2100 to have the main PC board replaced. Late January 2015 and we notice that every so often after switching the TV on, the screen goes black again still with sound etc. By the second week in February it is going off everytime it gets switched on. Again today, 16 February 2015 we've taken it back to the approved LG repair provider to be told that the main LED board needs to be replaced and the part alone costs R6000. Seriously, who is going to pay that for a part for a TV that may only last another couple of months. After spending R10100 on the TV we would expect it to last longer than 3.5 years... Definitely will not waste our time buying another LG product in the future.
