BAD LG APPLIANCE

In April 2015, we purchased a LG direct drive washing machine. A couple of weeks ago, the machine started making a noise which sounded like a dry bearing. A few days later the machine would not switch on. We took it to the LG service center in Westmead, Durban. They sent a quotation to replace the PC board for R2070. I phoned to inquire what the noise was and was told that in order for them to diagnose the noise we had to pay to replace the PC board so it could be switched on. I was also told that if it was the bearing as they suspected, it would cost an additional +/- R2000 which brought the repairs to the machine in excess of R4000. I told them that this was unacceptable considering this machine was only three and half years old. I asked them why after three and half years, the bearing and the PC board had packed up. Surely the bearing is part of the """""direct drive"""""" which is supposed to have a 10 year warranty. I was then contacted by LG in Johannesburg and was told ""The accredited service center technician has made diagnosis where repair was not successful, and as such we will offer you a replacement model F12U2QNP7S at a discounted structure for an exchange, for R5713.20. Seriously !!!!!! at that price, I would rather go and buy a new washing machine, which will MOST DEFINITELY NOT BE A LG
