A FINE/FINE PRINT STORY? LG REPAIR CENTRE in Montague Gardens who claim they are independent of LG.
<p>Hallo Peter ,</p> <p>On:</p> <p>· 26 Feb 16 -On behalf of my Parents whom have been on pension for some time and therfore money is a serious consideration I took their LG Fridge/Freezer in to LG SERVICES (ET 15 Electronics (Pty) Ltd Tel: ***) in Montague Gardens, Cape Town.</p> <p>· Upfront I made a point to inform them that my folks are pensioners and that cost decisions would be important;</p> <p>· Feb 16 - I paid in their R200 assessment fee;</p> <p>· 26 Feb 16 – Quote ref no: QU116479 for R1125.00 for Assessment fee, Re-Gas and labour was emailed to me.</p> <p>· 29 March 16 – after receiving monies from my Dad’s pension I paid the R1125.00. No acknowledgement of payment was received;</p> <p>· 22 April 2016 - I received a second Quote Ref no: QU117779 for R1840.00 for Re-Gas and Compressor replacement.</p> <p> </p> <p>This Fridge now sits at a total cost of R3,165.00 to repair and there is no doubt that if this information was made available at the start it would have made sense to get a new fridge which would have come with a year plus of guarantee.</p> <p> </p> <p>Questions that arose are:</p> <p>· How is it that the compressor could not be reasonably tested at start?</p> <p>· Is LG not a large company that associates themselves with reputable Services Centres that are experts whom will reduce risk of this happening as opposed to the small guy in the street. I approached a small Service Centre and the Owner said that when it happened to him he honoured the repair at his own cost?</p> <p>· Based on interactions with LG SERVICES the fact that this repair was for Pensioners bour no extra consideration on any level, they just did not care.</p> <p> </p> <p>LG SERVICES’s answer is that I signed the fine print when I brought the Fridge/Freezer in, which I do not dispute, but we all know that that may be abused? </p>

LG,
I received a second pretty mail from LG on 21 July 2016 and still no action. it is now going on for 2 months and since first taking in the Fridge in Feb 2016 almost one half year.
Is this your strategy to fob matters off or is something happening? This matter will not go away until some action has taken place. I will post it again an again and next I will escalate it to the Newspapers and Consumer council, wherever I can to even if it just warns folks about LG commitment.
I not sure if HALLO PETER actually works?
What a poor show.

Hi There
Pls see below reply as per our Service Agent LG Services who has been liaising with you regarding your complaint.
1. Compressor was functioning after re-gas.
2. Compressor failed after initial re-gas. Functioning for a while then stopped working. Not in our control.
3. Customer only spent R1125 till this point.
4. Then quoted on compressor and again re-gas because this is needed again for compressor replacement.
5. Cannot test compressor. Either works or it does not.
Regards/Groete,

Finally thank you for a response,
Why did they not quote for the compressor upfront thereby not wasting another R1000 of pension monies?
I understand based on comment from 3 other Service centres that the presure can be checked and there through gauged with more than 60% cer*****y that the compressor would need to be replaced. If this had happened R1000 of pension money would have been saved or are all those service centres *****?
