Used Lexus vehicles are the WORST purchase ever

Problems with alternator being damaged while the vehicle was on-site at Lexus Fourways. Hello Lexus Fourways Team, Thank you for doing your best to get our vehicle in working condition this afternoon, Wednesday 28th August 2019. I appreciate your entire staff for attempting to remedy the entire situation. We purchased our vehicle from Lexus Fourways approximately 4 months ago. Since Day One of owning the Lexus, we have considered it to be a "Grudge Purchase" and it is something that my wife & I will NEVER do again. As the saying goes, "Experience is your Greatest Teacher". We have learnt the following in the time we have owned the Lexus: 1. It is an extremely problematic vehicle; 2. It is not worth the money at all; 3. Great After Sales Service is extremely important in the motor industry in South Africa: The Dealer needs to acknowledge that when a problem arises, while a vehicle is on their premises, it is their responsibility; 4. Passes the buck making it seem like it is the client's fault is something which ONLY happens in South Africa. (As I mentioned, I have worked overseas for 7 years, this particular issue would have had serious legal implications had it occurred overseas. 5. I have owned many cars, we have never been told that the issue is our fault, while the vehicle is in for a service at the dealership. 6. While we appreciate and acknowledge your attempts to rectify the situation, it has left us with an extremely "bad impression" of the Lexus brand overall (Both in South Africa and abroad). 7. Always remember that it takes years to build a good solid relationship, a slight misunderstanding or lack thereof, can damage that solid relationship permanently. 8. Every month since we have owned the Lexus, we have NOT been happy with the purchase. 9. We appreciate you agreeing to accept 50% liability of the alternator damage. 10. We will NEVER recommend Lexus to anybody we know from this day forward. The damage has been done. "Prevention is better than Cure". Today's efforts from Lexus Fourways was a CURE. While I appreciate and value the efforts by Lexus Fourways, the bridge has been burnt. It is TOO LATE to try and salvage the remains of the aftermath. We have decided to cut our losses and move forward. We are in the process of selling our vehicle to try and retrieve most, if not all, of the money, which we have unwillingly had to pour into this vehicle. We are aware that it is a used vehicle and we know that things are bound to break. However, the frequency of things breaking on the Lexus is something which makes us feel like this vehicle is not safe for our family. Please do not sell these used Lexus vehicles to anyone with a family, because it is extremely unsafe.
