Zero Compassion
Zero compassion and understanding towards young and helpless students during one of the most stressful times the world has ever known. As someone said, UP is a major source of income for this publisher and yet they refused to make a textbook, that many students bought and just did not have with them, accessible online. Additionally, instead of taking the kind route of warning the students in a humane manner, they decided to threaten the already stressed students (many of them innocent) with ******** records that could affect their futures indefinitely!!! Absolute capatilist behaviour from a now known academic publisher with zero compassion.

LexisNexis South Africa is aware of a copyright infringement incident involving a group of university students and would like to put on record that the matter is currently under internal investigation. We are in touch with the university and this matter is currently under investigation by them as well.
LexisNexis South Africa is aware of a copyright infringement incident involving a group of university students and would like to put on record that the matter is currently under internal investigation. We are in touch with the university and this matter is currently under investigation by them as well.
We are mindful of the significant challenges being faced by the communities we serve, as we confront a common enemy in the form of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a company that has served the students and professionals of this country for over 85 years, we wish to reassure the student community that we do indeed understand its plight and are keen to minimise the impact of COVID-19 on studies. We have also implemented a number of measures to provide relief and support to customers, NGOs, government and employees over this period.
Copyright infringement remains against the law – whatever the circumstances – and the ******** reproduction of such material cannot be condoned for many reasons, including the loss of income for authors who invest much effort, IP and time into writing these books. It also has a detrimental effect on the entire value chain involved in the process of creating a product like this and bringing it to market. Over time, authors would stop writing these books as it would not be a viable use of their time and effort, and it would be our students who are negatively affected as a result.
We call upon students to please act responsibly as they prepare to become the young professionals of this country.
