SUBSCRIBED TO UPDATES WITHOUT CONSENT
I was subscribed to updates without my consent
On 12/2/2020, I ordered and paid for books from LexisNexis and was assisted by one Melody Atchutham. At no time did I subscribe for updates and it came as a surprise to me when the business premise where we had initailly conducted business and since moved kept on sending couriers with updates to our premises. I conducted Melody and she acknowledged the error and indicated that this would be reversed.
This was not the case. Lexis Nexis continued to send updates top my old business address, and I continued to receive Invoices for updates sent to a wrong business address, even when I raised this issue with Lexis Nexis once again.
One Nerissa Naicker followed up and admitted that the updates had been sent to me in error and indicated that collection would be arranged and my account credited. I have since dealt with the following consultants, to name a few, but to no avail:= 1. Khumbulani Gumede 2. Dusoruth Nierie 3. Mandy Perumal
I am still receiving statements for updates invoiced in December. I have since returned the five copies in my possesion, which were collected by Lexis Nexis (#s 1. 1. PIA*** 2. PGO***; 3. PGO***; 4. PIA*** and 5. PGO***.
But still this week, two staff have contacted me telling me that no updates have been returned and that I owe LexisNexis money.
How can I owe money for a service that I did not enter into, but which LexisNexis has wrongly forced upon me, billing it to a wrong business address, despite numerous requests from myself to end this billing?
I am totally disgusted at this ploy to get money out of clients and if I had known that simply purchasing books over R 6,000 would lead to Lexis Nexis seeking to de***** more money out of me, I would definitely not have used their services!!!
