Nigel Lewis furniture store badly treatment

Last year November took items on credit and I paid for Nov, December and end of January since I am working for small business we were never paid, as we were waiting for funding, February as well and I communicated with Lewis personnel. Now in March he kept calling saying I must borrow, else they will come fetch the goods. I explained that I can’t borrow, I had borrowed enough for the past two months for my kids to eat, I’ll only be pay if we get paid this month end.

I understand it’s their work, they came to my workplace and found me, I came to explain to an Indian lady and the driver. Firstly the lady is disrespectful, she calls ‘her boss’ in front of me and doesn’t explain the way I told her, that I was in a meeting when they barged at my work and they promising to pay us month end, and I can only afford to pay the two instalments and they remaining on the following month. She says “it’s the problematic one, she doesn’t have the money so we are taking the goods. “ I asked but you are not relaying the same message I’m telling you, you are saying whatever you want. She ignored me and insisted that I should accompany them to my house, which I refused and told them that they can wait until I knock off. I only agreed to avoid embarrassment from my work, I didn’t even see if they had a court order to repossess. Anyway at 5 knocked off and prepared for them to come, they never did. The next day was supposed to go to Joburg and on my way there in the morning, they called me and I told them I was on my way to joburg, waited the previous night and they never showed up and I’ll call them on my way back.

They went to my work, since they never believed me, they forcefully wanted to get inside, they said my Collegue’s are lying. They wanted to see if I was there. I work in a small business, everyone called me to say Lewis wants to forcefully come in. I was surprised as I did communicate to them. I was given a written warning concerning that. And this is the reason I had to write this, Lewis embarrassed me at work, I got a warning and forfeited my bonus. When coming back I told the guy that I will be at my house around 6:30 as I attended the graduations. He agreed and my phones went off and they started calling everyone and harassing my neighbours, they thought I was inside the house, my sister told them she doesn’t know where I was when they called her and my brother said he will find me and get back to them. He found me and I told them I was 10 minutes away and they must wait for me. That was at 7pm, I was sticker in a traffic “. They waited, and I found two cars waiting at the gate and all my neighbours pipping at windows because of the drama they wanted to make and forcefully wanting to enter as they thought I was home hiding.

I allowed them to take their goods and signed a paper saying goods collected because I feared the drama they came with and to protect my kids, myself and my work, knowing wing they will come the next day. They are terrible and disrespected me and my family and also defame my dignity at work as people are still talking about it at work
