Manager collecting cash from my house.

Lewis stores debited me on the wrong day. I dont have a delinquent account and payments go off via debit order. I was debited on the wrong day and as soon as the debit order reversed the store manager of Lewis was at my house collecting the cash. This is not in my contract as my contract does state that i have till the 1st of the month to pay. The manager insists that because its a new account they are allowed to collect the money at your house which isnt business practice. I am so disgusted in this as we do not have that kind of relationship where my house is his house. I contacted head office as this is not normal business practice but they are so disrespectful. They keep insisting that this is how its done. when its not even the 1st of the month yet. The agents insist that they are looking out for my credit report. But i had another account with beares that was paid up a year ago and they still didnt update the credit bureau after i have been calling the whole year. The worst store to open an account. They are threatening to close the account for the one payment and reposess what i had bought. Is this even legal business practice as i mentioned its not a delinquent account and payments are made via debit order.
