Lewis stores a LAW unto themselves - showing middle finger to the NCA

Refer - Account Number 007380 in PE. I was shocked this afternoon to discover that Lewis is using bullying and harassment tactics with their treatment of their clients. I am convinced that they are in contravention of the National Credit Act and also Basic Human Rights contraventions. They claim that if any client with credit with Lewis Stores is in arrears with their account within the first 6 months, they can just rock up at the clients residence and confiscate the goods. I asked the question : - What Covid relief do they have for struggling clients - Whether they can repossess furniture without a court order - Is such action within the ambit of the law - How much grace and lee-way do they offer their clients before they take these draconian measures. It is unheard off for any national retailer to operate like this in the 21st century, operating with impunity, negatively affecting the poor.
