The treatment and service my mother received from your Mabopane Central City branch.

In November 2024, my mother, who is a pensioner, purchased a microwave and a wall unit on credit from your store. The microwave was valued at R2,999, the wall unit at R6,999, with a monthly instalment of R733. The total credit payable was agreed to be R26,388, with the first instalment scheduled for 01 January 2025 (Public Holiday), which was before my mother’s pension grant payday.

However, today the 09th of January 2025 Lewis staff members, acting under the directive of Refilwe, came to repossess these items. Despite my attempts to explain that my mother is currently unwell, under the care of my grandmother, and unable to go pay her account, no understanding or compassion was shown.

The handling of this matter has caused unnecessary distress to my mother, who is already in a vulnerable position. The staff demonstrated a complete lack of empathy, and the situation was beyond her control.

I find this treatment unacceptable, especially toward a pensioner who has faithfully entered into an agreement with your company.
