Lewis Delivered Used Damaged Goods/Furnisher with Dents & Peeling Off

<p>My mother bought bedroom suite from Lewis in Mabopane and before they delivered the suite, she saw that it is damaged. She asked to speak to manager and the sales assistant said the manager is not available and promised my mom they will deliver that one that is damaged and in seven days they will bring another one as replacement for the damaged good but that was not done and it's already 21 days after the delivery date. <br /> <br /> The wood had dents, scratches, mirror is cracked, part of it is peeling off. This looks like furniture that was used as display in the store for a long period. Refer to Attached pictures. <br /> <br /> I'm not convinced that Lewis would give a customer furniture that was used as display in the store, I struggle to believe that from a young age, the standards of Lewis have been known to be high up in the sky and today damaged furniture is delivered to customers? My mother has been a loyal customer to Lewis for a long long time and all the furniture she bought from when I was still a child came from Lewis. I'm deeply disappointed in Lewis. <br /> <br /> <br /> Tried to call four times asking to speak to a manager at the store but each time I called he was either not available or busy on a call. The Consumer Office advised me to follow this route before I submit a formal complaint with them. <br /> </p> <p>A call was received after the first complaint and Gregory said the store manager Lolo denies the Used Damaged Furnisher/Goods. Jerina, the sales person who assisted her knew the furnisher/goods was damaged before it was delivered and my mom showed her and asked to speak to a manager. The manager was not available at the time and Jerina said to her, they will speak to manager and replacement furnisher/goods will be delivered within 7 days. From date it has not been changed and now when a formal complaint is logged the Lewis Store in Mabopane Central City is denying the promise to replace the damaged furnisher/goods. </p> <p> </p> <p>How can new furnisher/goods peel off within the first week or delivery? This shows this is used furnisher/goods and they know it. They wanted to get rid of the furnisher and decided to take advantage on an old lady. </p> <p> </p> <p> Lewis Stores/Group's Lolo [Manager] Jerina [Sales Person] is/are taking advantage of an old lady who has been a loyal customer to Lewis Stores close to 20 years. </p> <p><br /> Please see attached pictures of the damaged/peeling off bedroom suite and cracked mirror that Lewis Delivered. <br /> </p> <p> </p>
