Horrible!

My first purchase from them was 2 Dinner sets. I was forced to have it delivered to my house instead of leaving the store with it. Which meant that I had to pay delivery charges. Not only that, but one of the sets were incomplete. I didn't notice this right away because I only used one set in the beginning. But as soon as I noticed this, I reported it and they promised to send me the missing pieces. It wasn't until about a year later, that they refused to credit me for the second dinner set, and instead they obligated me to choose something else of the same value.

They also slapped me with a family club fee which I complained about and had them remove, however it took months before it was removed and I never received a credit for it.

I'd always paid extra on my account and one 18/06/2015 someone showed up at my uncles' house demanding money, saying that my account was in arrears and demanding that my uncle make a payment. He gave them R100. I had no arrears on my account, and that my account was in advance by R171.48. I took this up with management and their head office and it took forever for someone to get back to me, and even then, I requested a letter of apology from the woman who was so rude to me at the store and who was responsible for sending the collectors to my uncles’ place.

On top of all that, I'd purchased a lounge suit which started falling apart and after months of complaining, they wouldn't allow me to get anything different, only replace it with the same thing. Eventually, they agreed to allow me to take something else, but I was FORCED to take something that covered the same value of the original lounge suite. I couldn't find another lounge suite of the same value and they obligated me to take other items to make up the difference.

Then I bought a bed, the next day I complained because I noticed that they'd given me the floor model as there was a mark on the floor model that I had noticed. They replaced the bed, only to discover that the bed was now squeeking. They replaced the base, but the same thing was happening. I complained and Seally called me confirming that they would send a replacement. Lewis informed me that this would take 6-8 weeks. It's been well into 4-5 months. And the Custome care lady doesn't remember a thing.

When my washing machine broke, I waited weeks for them to come fix that.

My fridge sounds haunted, when I first complained and a technician came out to check on it, I was told that it was normal and it would go away after a few months. Nothing has changed, in fact it is worse.

My microwave is not working properly.

And my replacement lounge suit is falling apart as well. The feet has destroyed my newly painted wooden floors.

During all of this I‘ve had many unprofessional experiences. I've heard the "customer care' lady shout and scream at a colleague for transferring me to her. Another time she told me she was eating and would get back to me. She never calls me back when she promises and she’s got no telephone etiquette. She’s rude and unfriendly and as a result I have been reluctant to report all my other problems.

My TV then broke and I decided to write a letter similar to this one, a letter of complaint, which I emailed to their new manager, I called her before faxing it to ensure that she received it. I heard nothing for about 2 weeks until the customer care lady called me and confronted me, asking me why I would complain about her and that she has always helped me and she can't understand how I can complain about her because she has been in customer care for many years and no one has ever complained about her. She couldn't even remember the bed story. I told her about my other queries and she complained at me for not logging it sooner. I explained to her that I was trying to sort one thing out first as I felt like their uselessness was really getting to me and having to deal with her was really offputting. She told me that someone would come out to pick up my tv. I waited about a month for that to happen. During this time I sent my same letter to Lewis Head Office. They were very kind and managed to get Wynberg to collect my tv, for which I waited 2 weeks to get it back.

Since then Seally has been to my house to confirm that the base needs to be replaced. I called the store the next day to follow up and I was told that she was waiting to hear from Seally and she'd get back to me. It's been a week and I still haven't heard anything. I followed up on my stove and fridge, she was confused as to why no one had come to sort that out yet.

Fortunately they came to repair my stove on Saturday and they're coming to repair my fridge today.

I seem to have a problem with every item I've bought from them. My husband lost his job a few months ago so I'm in arrears , though I have been paying every month and she had the cheek to ask me when I was going to sort that problem out! When I spoke to her about my lounge suite she discovered that they did not change the lounge suite on the system or add the 2 mattresses that i took to make up the difference in price for the original lounge suite. Which apparently now is going to cause a problem for the fault that needs to be logged. I just don't understand what they're doing anymore. I wish I could just give everything back. This has been an endless nightmare! I'm so disgusted with the whole situation.

Sadie from the head office has been in touch with me since yesterday.

She was very kind and patient. She took the time to hear me out and has assured me that she will be on top of this.

Things are already in motion, they came out today to look at all my queries.

Once again, I'd like to say thank you to Sadia.

She has been so helpful and on top of things since I first wrote the review. She kept me in the loop on everything, every step of the way. All my issues were addressed and handled professionally.

My TV has been repaired. My base was replaced. My 2 single mattresses were replaced. My lounge sweet was repaired and refoamed (the 2 singles seaters needs to be looked at again, but Sadia has assured me that she will get the store to send someone out to look at it). Then the feet of my lounge suite has been replaced with rubber feet that won't scratch the floors. My fridge has been repaired, though it still sounds haunted, the technician explained to me that it is in perfect running condition and that this particular model does make these strange noises because of the piping. My stove was also repaired.

I'm happy that everything has been resolved and I'm hoping that I wont have any problems in the future.
