Harassment from Lewus

When I took out my current Lewis account I was employed by the department of education and earned a decent amount. However for the past year and a half I have been getting paid through the school where I work SGB. Thus I have earned considerably less. I went into debt review last year but ended it because I was unhappy with the company.

Thus I haven't been able to pay an amount to Lewis in over a year. I have explained this to Lewis Kraaifontein and am consistently being harassed by telephone and employees of Lewis coming to my home. This has further added to emotional distress and has caused me to be extremely stressed and anxious. I have completed payment of two of my previous Lewis accounts and do not understand how I am now treated so horribly after having fallen on hard times. I have repeatedly explained to the manager and people coming to my house that I am in the process of going into debt review again but am still harassed non stop.

I will arrange to pay an amount of R700 which is the maximum I can afford at the moment. I also wish to say I have consulted with legal aid and been advised that Lewis may not harass me as they have by coming to my home repeatedly - at least once every two weeks for the last few weeks. And should this continue I will be forced to take legal action because mentally I cannot take it anymore.
