Extremely bad way to be treated.
I did opened an account around by October last year. Every month the amount I sign up for did went smoothly off without any hesitation whatsoever. I am staying now already from 2022 in Western Cape as I did relocate from Pretoria to here. Every month I do receive nice sms which say Thank you for your payment etc. In February 2024 I did took leave and went to visit friends and family in Pretoria. In Pretoria with a transaction taking place my bank card being cloned and a big amount of money went out of my card which cause that I went to bank and stop my account with them. ( I was always deal with the salesmen Andrew at the Lewis stores branch in Stellenbosch.) The moment when I was back in Western Cape I went to another bank which I know if ***** happen with them they have quite a good reputation to sort it out without any delay and with good track records with them. So to make a long story short, after I have new bank account details I did contact Andrew on WhatsApp arrange that they change banking details, so that debit order can still go off without any problems. So they came to me the first time, I was on duty that they, and apparently they forget the swipe machine at store. But because I though I have a good relationship with Lewis stores I handed my bank card to them and say they can go sort it out at the stores. So much trust I do have in them. Unfortunately the transaction didn't went of for 2 months which I didn't know why it happen and on that stage I also didn't have the bank app on my phone, so I was under the impression that payment went off. Then I do receive a call from the accounted at the store which I been treated like the biggest ******** on the planet. Then the manager was talking to me just to find out that the debit order wasn't activated. So she say she will send the collector to come and reactivate the debit order. Again it happen that they didn't bring the swipe machine. So when the guy was here I phone the manager and ask must I again send my card with him. So she say no they will come back. Then the next day they come back this time with the swipe machine. And I did to the activation here at work as well as where I stay. I feel that I was a lot humiliated and feel very much unhappy about this whole situation. I think they could handle this situation much better, and if I did have the money to pay of my debt once off I would do it. Because the way I have been treated wasn't what I expected at all from Lewis stores. Not to mean it rude but they could say ok we understand it wasn't your fault and just for the mental pain and suffering I went throw say ok we don't want to lose you as client then they could give like a kettle or whatsoever as a token of appreciation that they are sorry. But still it feels like they think I am a ***** person. So in my heart I feel broken about this whole situation. I even make now the amount higher to pay off the debt after it wasn't my fault and even now they put my name on for a bad credit pay person. Which none is true, because if I was a ***** person, I will not firstly contact Andrew from the beginning and say please I did change bank come and let we do the new bank details. If I was a ***** person also, I will not trusted them to go with my bank card to the store to go activate new account. So I would appreciate if hello Peter can please give this over to the Lewis stores branch in Stellenbosch.
