damaged goods after a period of 3 mnths. I reported the case to the store. I was told they do not have a store manager at that time . Person in charge visited my place and promise to attend. Visited the store there was no manager again.

I bought on credit from Lewis Stores/Butterworth Branch some few items . These included single base beds and dining table and chairs. I was buying the items for my business (bed and breakfast )and I produced my business bank statement. I told them that I was buying the items for the business. After 3 months my clients complained about some springs protruding from the beds and also the funny movement. At first I thought it was a fussy customer because the beds were new and it was hardly 2 mnths then . Again another client companies. I reported the matter to the store. They said there was no store manager at that time but one of them Will have a look at items. He visited my place and he also confirmed. I waited for about a week there was no response. I went again to the store the person I was dealing with was gone. I went to the sales agent who was selling me the items. He reported the case to his seniors. There was nothing again. Then there was a manager at the store I reported again. The manager promised to look at the matter. After sometime the manager was gone. After that manager 2 came after her . All of them I told them about the matter . The last one I spoke to went to see the items at my place. Then he lodged the complaint to the area manager. The answer I received from the area manager was the beds were not ment for the use of bed and breakfast . I told her that I told the person who sold the items to me that I was buying for the business I even submitted the business bank statement. I was told they can only repair the items at my own cost. I refused because the items were insured and also it was not my fault that I was given the beds that were not suitable for the business. I told them because I'm using the beds for business I have to buy new ones from another store so I'm going to bring back their beds because I don't have a space to keep them. They refused. I bought the news beds. I reminded them again about the matter. To cut the long story short . I was phoned this year by the new manager asking for Payment. I requested an appointment with her. I narrated the story to her. To my surprise there was nothing on the computer About my complaint. She promised to visit my place . About 3 people from the store came and looked at the items. They saw the damage. By that time the beds i was no more using them I kept them . Then I received a msg reminding me about the payment. Last mnth i went to the store for Payment. I was told that my account was handed over I owe R100 000. so their lawyers will send me the summons. I'm still waiting for the summons . What can i do because I'm paying for something I did not use and was damaged from day 1. About the dinning table two chairs were damaged when they were making delivery . They promised to replace them to date not yet replaced. instead they are all damages and I decided to throw them away . Please help. Regards. Norma
