Bad Service Lewis Stores Kwadukuza

I hope this email finds you well?

I have recently been pre-approved with a credit facility with Lewis. I decided that before I actually go to one of your stores in Stanger (Kwadukuza), I would phone before hand to find out a few things if they had anything that I was looking for, eg a laptop as I saw in one of the online brochures. I was very shocked by the telephone manner by, who I'd think, is one of your floor staff, could barely speak English. She proceeds to put me on hold, then a gentleman answers. My goodness... I asked him if they had any laptops in store. In his broken English, he says, no they broken, we don't have, then slams the phone down on me.

I am also in the service industry, if this is how I, as a prospective customer, is handled on the phone, then one can only imagine, what the face to face service will be like. I'm hesitant to actually want to go to any one of the stores in Kwadukuza. ( which I have done so before, just to browse)

Thank you for your time. (I may just go to Hello Peter to see what reviews there are for the Stanger Branches, just to see what I will be dealing with)

Edit: the above was an email I sent to customer service earlier. Not only Stanger but many other stores too. I have been reading the reviews on Hello Peter and I wasn't suprised. It's unfortunate that, in the economic environment that we are in, with all the competition that's around, one would think that these stores (Lewis, being one of many) there would be a sense of pride, a sense of motivation that would encourage the sales staff to be money hungry . Alas, it's just a pay cheque at the end of the month for these guys with a who cares kind of attitude. Anyone who happens to be in the Kwadukuza area, do yourself a favour and go to any furniture store (Lewis included) and take a walk around in any store. Pay close attention how the staff literally loaf around on the couches "waiting" for customers... anyways.. I'm a very passionate, service orientated person and this kind of service really gets to me...
