Bad customer service

I went to Lewis store today in randburg,I was about to buy microwave which was on sale and one of the stuff member came and told us he has bought the microwave we can't have it,my question is why was it still on the shelves and it's like he was the only one who knew about the microwave, please help me understand.thank you
