Account statement

I open your my account in August 2020 and then I was told that my 1st instalment will be paid in October 2020 I paid R1000, from the ive been paying R610 cause that’s my monthly installment, sometimes I pay R700 my concern is my account does go down which is confusing cause they keep on saying I owe R8000. When I took the washing machine the value was R8000 but I have been paying when I ask the consultant to check my debt they always say I owe R8000 how when I’ve been paying this is so confusing can someone call me and clarify things for me because the amount on the statement doesn’t change it’s supposed to because I pay every month. This is not my 1st furniture account this is ridiculous
