ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC SERVICE FROM LEWIS

While on holiday in December 2023, I visited the Lewis Worcester branch in search of a bed for my new apartment in Johannesburg. I eventually settled on a bed of R 8000.00, however the manager of the store was kind enough to give me a R1000.00 discount, so effectively the bed was R 7000.00. I agreed to pay half of the money upfront and the other half at the end of January 2024.

I paid the other half of the money earlier than expected, this meant that the bed was now paid for in full, and I expected to have it delivered to my new apartment in Johannesburg, only to find out that the store owner never liaised with the nearest Lewis to my apartment to inquire if they have stock and whether they could have it delivered. It has been more than 3 WEEKS !!! and I have been sleeping on the ground of my new apartment.

Each time when I call to inquire about the status of when the bed will be delivered I either get empty promises or a bunch of excuses. Thus far, I've been told that they ordered the bed and that Lewis in Kempton park will be delivering it, Lewis Kempton park said that they don't see the benefit in delivering the bed as the deal was never made between me and them.

The staff members that I've dealt with have been so unhelpful, unsympathetic and unprofessional, from sending me correspondence through on non-professional platforms like WhatsApp to down right lying to me when I call to inquire about the status of my bed.

At this point, if Lewis cannot deliver my bed by 13:00 pm on 22 January 2024, they should just pay me back my R7000.00, and not pay it back in 7 business days, I want it the same day (22 January 2024)!!
