Store manager at Levi’s Pavilion is verbally and emotionally abusive
To whom it may concern:
I am formally from Durban and relocated to Mpumalanga. I had a pair of Levi’s that had an issue with the slogan coming off with the stitches at the back of the jeans next to the belt loop. The previous manager told me to bring it in when I had the chance and he could see it and send it to the Capetown factory for an evaluation etc.
I only managed to get back to Durban and bring it in on 1 March 2021 as I am a doctor and was busy working during this pandemic.
I then approached the new manager at the Levi’s at Pavilion and explained the story to him. He suggested that instead of sending it all the way to CapeTown he would allow me to take a new pair and pay the difference. I did at the time express to him that I don’t have my slip but he can pick up the purchases on my loyalty card.
I then took my jeans and thanked him for his help. I wore my new pair on Saturday and noticed that the one front pocket had a stitch defect. When you wear the jeans the light blue inner lining is exposed despite trying to tuck it in.
I went back to the store on the 29 April 2021 and explained the situation to one of the sales personnel in the store and that I didn’t have the slip but he can confirm the transaction on my loyalty card. He then said that he would call the store manager.
The store manager came out of the back office and told me that he is really saddened by my return. He said that he noticed that this is a pattern, he also went on to say that he refuses to do business with me and that I need to bring the previous slip or look on my bank statement and he will give me my money back.
He refused to do any exchanges. He also said that he doesn’t want to hear anything I have to say, despite my attempt to ask if I could try out the jeans infront of him and show him where the defect was. He then went on to say that he doesn’t want to see it because I had the opportunity to try it out in the store.
He spoke to me in such a rude manner despite him not shouting. He did it in front of customers and then asked the sales personal to please escort me out of the store.
The verbal and emotional abuse I have endured is unacceptable and highly unprofessional.
I have been a loyal customer for many years and unfortunately the brand has truely lost its sparkle if they can higher someone of such stature. I am a female and no woman or any person for that matter should succumb to such disrespect.
As such an influential brand you would truely be doing yourself a disservice if you had to keep an employee like this on. How many people have had to undergo such abuse?
With a pandemic that has affected the World it’s actually a privilege for a customer to still come and support your store. It’s a sad reality to know that I won’t be after such an incident.
My sincere apologies for the experience, I will be escalating the matter & management will be in contact with you.
Kind Regards
