Levi's access park bizarre policies and poor customer service.

I went to Levi's factory outlet in access park Kenilworth as I was gifted Levi apparel from two separate people . But when I went and exchanged as all three the items didn't fit I was told that two of them could not be exchanged as, though the tags were still on, they didn't have receipts. Had I bought this myself, I would have understood because that makes sense. I asked what one is supposed to do in the case like this where it was a gift. "they supposed to keep the receipt" is what I was told. Whoever gifted it didn't have the receipt any more because one would think it would not be a problem to exchange, not even refund, just size exchange a gift. They also said that Levi doesn't have gift receipts either so they could not help in that regard when the one buying it was doing so. They then said even if they scanned it in the price would not be a true indication because it was bought on sale, mind you, everything was one sale at the time of us returning it, two weeks after receiving it. How was I supposed to know it was bought on sale?? Did I mention they said a bank statement from the one who gifted it to me, which would clearly indicate the price and date of purchase, was not sufficient and would not be accepted if we managed to get one. According to them, and totally unbeknownst to us,because obviously because we didn't have a receipt which would probably state this, or would be told this, had we bought it ourselves, probably, which I don't even think would happen because clearly there was no communication regarding returns or exchanges and proof of purchase to the person who bought me this because had there been they would have given the receipt along with the gift.,we only had two weeks to return . Eventually, after they said they will make an exception after I was clearly boggled at this policy, they then said they didn't have the same color available and asked if I wanted another color, which I didn't because that's not what I wanted. It came across quite, "it's either you take the black or nothing". After eventually agreeing to exchange it for something else to the same value or more, which is what we would have been fine with in the first place, the guy that was then given the instructions to perform the exchange was also extremely rude. I thanked him after the transaction to which he did not respond or even acknowledge me as the customer he totally ignored me. He just looked at his screen as though I was never there. I was totally appalled and shocked because I have never witnessed anything like this. I'm not sure what the name of the lady who works there who wasn't even helping us with the matter was though, but she was really pleasant and friendly even though she was not assisting us. We appreciated that. If only both of the gentleman who helped us where as customer service educated. So basically if you get a gift which is not the right size, nothing can be done. Even if you had no knowledge of the fact that a receipt was necessary for any exchange. And nothing was communicated to the one buying. No exchange. Just you potentially stuck with something that will never fit. As long as Levi has thier money right?

Please work on your communication with customers regarding your policies so that whoever is receiving a gift isn't totally humiliated when returning the item and treated as though the item was a ****** good. And please train or enforce common decency of acknowledging and thanking customers after a transaction.
