Shocking Service from Epsom Downs Branch

On Sa****ay, 11 June 2016 I took my suit in for dry cleaning at the Epsom Downs branch and was told that I could fetch the suit on Wednesday afternoon (i.e. 15 June 2016). On Wednesday afternoon I left work in central Sandton and drove to the Epsom Downs branch to collect the suit as undertaken. I arrived at approximately 14:45 only to be told that the suit was not at the branch yet and that it would arrive later in the afternoon after 15:30 / 16:00. The staff informed me that they could not get hold of the driver delivering the suit as he was not answering his phone and could not confirm the exact time of his arrival.

I was informed by the staff that the branch will not be open the next day (Thursday, 16 June 2016) and that it would close at 18:00 that afternoon. Since I needed the suit for an out of town trip for which I departed on Thursday, 16 June 2016 I requested my wife to leave work early and collect the suit from the branch before it closed at 18:00.

My wife left her work early and arrived at the branch at 17:35 on Wednesday, 15 June 2016. She had another appointment at 18:00 which she needed to get to.

Upon arriving at the Epsom Downs branch at 17:35, the doors to Levingers were locked. My wife knocked on the door repeatedly without a response.

At approximately 17:45 (some ten minutes after my wife arrived at the branch), a representative arrived carrying food and speaking on his mobile phone. My wife informed him that she was late and requested him to hurry up. He did not acknowledge her or even attempt to apologise. While he was opening the door and carrying his food, he continued to speak on the phone and ignore her. When he opened, he casually strolled to the back to put his food down and then proceeded to look for the suit. While all this was happening and my wife was insisting that he hurry up, he continued to speak on his cell phone.

My wife asked this person for his name and informed him that she will report this to management. He clearly could not care less about this as he laughed and told her to “tell them my name is James”.

Despite reporting the incident to the "complaints manager" as well as the "operations manager", we have not even received an acknowledgment of the complaint.

The staff do not care about customer service or the fact that they caused immense inconvenience and frustration. You pay a premium price for service and the staff literally laugh in your face when they fail to deliver. Management cannot be bothered with complaints either.
