Non existing Service & Account problems

In Sept 2016 Leisure books re-opened. Excitedly I placed my order over the phone, because the website was not working. The agent confirmed my postal address as PO Box 70161, the address I have used for about 12 months before Leisurebooks announced they were closing.

In November when I phoned Leisurebooks to find out where my parcel was, I was advised it was sent to the Houghton Post Office. I checked the Tracking number and it showed the items were sent to the Houghton post office. I was promised that a new parcel with ALL the items would be sent and that a request was logged to return the items at the Houghton Post Office. A week later I received the package, but 2 items were missing. I phoned again on the 8 November, and I was advised that there was NO REQUEST logged for the package at Houghton to be returned. Once again, a request was logged for this. Another week later I received the outstanding dvd’s I ordered.

For SOME reason the Houghton Post Office only sent this item out of office on the 21st December? Was a call every logged by Leisure books?

I have spoken to 5 different agents and emailed 5 different people as well, and NO ONE seems to take ownership of this query to sort it out? WHAT happened to the Leisurebooks Client Service we were used to?

I also asked for detailed statements about 4 times, each time receiving a statement with ONE amount reflecting.

I advised the last consultant I spoke to beginning of Feb 2017 after receiving another statement showing an amount of R1226.53, that I will not pay until they sort out this query. He advised me that HE will PERSONALLY keep track of the post office return, and once they receive the returned package, the amount for the books will be deducted from my account.

Today, 23 Feb I received ANOTHER statement advising me I Owe leisurebooks R1226.53.

Leisurebooks made the mistake by sending my order to the incorrect address. Why should I be held liable for the return of these books? I advised them of this mistake in October already, and they only requested the package to be returned in December?

My 1st order should be an amount of R467.19

My 2nd Order should be an amount of R309.00

I owe R776.19, and NOT R1226.53

Regards

Jarine Wesseloo
