Leroy Merlins shoddy workmanship and service

A word of warning when it comes to Leroy Merlin and the service.

I wanted to redo my flooring, after looking at tiles, carpets and laminate flooring I decided laminate flooring was the best way to go.

After much hunting around I ended up purchasing the product from Leroy Merlin. While wondering who was best to install the flooring a staff member from Leroy Merlin suggested I use them, excellent choice I figured, one company from start to finish.

WHAT A DISASTER!!!! It turns out they use sub contractors who have no idea how to do the job. The floor was installed, a few weeks later it started to lift. Said contractor came out to fix the issue. All sorted, I was happy I had made the correct decision, recourse is fantastic for peace of mind.

A few months later, same issue again. The difference is this time I could not get hold of the contractor. It turns out they are not part of the Leroy Merlin "team" anymore. After getting someone else out from Leroy Merlin with another contractor I realized through the advice of the new contractor the whole installation was done incorrectly.

The floor was supposed to be screeded first. I did ask this question the first time around but I was told the green plastic sheeting being used served the same purpose. The places where joints were supposed to be used were not, the strips by the doors were incorrect and the flooring was siliconed, apparently this is not correct either. This is where it gets interesting:

To sort the problem out they now want to rip the floor out, I MUST PAY FOR THE SCREEDING, and they will then relay the same flooring. This is an absolute joke and so unprofessional.

I will be spreading this far and wide. BE WARY OF LEROY MERLIN, lots of promises and no action.
