Leroy Merlin false advertising

I bought a carpet on their platform, with the supplier called Fine Things. When I received the carpet, I did not look like the image advertised at all, it looks cheap and terrible quality. After trying to send it back, almost immediately, the Leroy Merlin / Fine Things said that I have to pay for the return of the item, apart from already paying for the item to be delivered to me. How is it that there is no consumer protection with them. They sell cheap ******* items on their website and take no responsibility for it. Their service is appalling & down right disgusting how they treat their customers.
