Extremely Poor Communication and Undelivered Order

I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Leroy Merlin. I placed an order on 4 February. During checkout, I noticed that the items would be dispatched from three different branches. Unfortunately, this only became clear just before payment, and there was no option to change or consolidate the order. I assumed this would not cause any issues. On 10 February, only part of my order was delivered. After hearing nothing about the remaining items, I contacted the call centre on Wednesday to enquire about the balance of my order. I then received an SMS stating that the rest of the order had been dispatched. On 12 February, I received another SMS saying the order was out for delivery. On 16 February, I received an SMS stating that the order had been delivered; however, nothing was delivered to me. I contacted the call centre again, only to be told that the order had been damaged and returned to the store. At no point did Leroy Merlin communicate this to me proactively. To be fair, the call centre consultant I spoke to was very helpful and professional. However, the bigger issue remains: why should I, as the customer, have to continuously follow up to find out what is happening with an order that has already been paid for? It has now been two weeks since placing my order, and it is still not fulfilled. The lack of communication, incorrect delivery notifications, and overall poor service are unacceptable. Customers should be aware of the fragmented dispatch system and the serious lack of communication if something goes wrong. I expected far better service from a company of this size. I am still waiting for my order to be properly resolved. Absolutely unacceptable service.

Reviewer Update
I was contacted by the call centre today and informed that there is “no stock available” for the item. However, when I checked your website immediately afterwards, it clearly reflected substantial stock available at multiple branches (e.g. Little Falls – 59 units, Boksburg – 70 units, Fourways – 96 units, Centurion – 98 units). How can customers be told there is no stock when your own system shows otherwise? This ongoing contradiction between what your call centre communicates and what your website reflects is wasting my time. I have now spent weeks following up, verifying stock myself, and trying to obtain accurate information about an order that has already been paid for. That responsibility should not fall on the customer. If your stock system is inaccurate, that is an internal control issue. If your staff are not checking properly before contacting customers, that is a training or process issue. Either way, it reflects serious operational shortcomings. At this point, I expect:
  1. A clear explanation for the discrepancy between your website stock levels and what I am being told.
  2. Immediate confirmation of how my order will be fulfilled.
  3. A concrete resolution timeline.
This situation continues to demonstrate poor coordination and lack of accountability. I expect this matter to be resolved urgently. Please make sure of your facts before contacting me
