Broken products on sale and no returns !!

Leroy Merlin - Strubensvalley store Bought a water feature pump, got home, it didn't work. I tried to see if I could repair it myself by replacing the plug, but alas I could not. Drove the 25km back to return it the next day. Much to my surprise they refused to accept it back as they said I had cut the plug off. treated as a **** and as though I was dishonest and had broken it. It was still in the wrapping it came. The fact is the pump did not work regardless of whether the plug was changed or not. So one must now test every product bought at Leroy Merlin before you leave the store as anything you take may actually not work. I would rather just shop elsewhere which if they had bothered to look they would have seen how much I have spent there - for R279 they have lost a very good customer. It was too much trouble to call the branch manager to come and speak to me - I left in disgust.
