Avoid dealing with Leroy Merlin at all cost!!!
I deal with a number of companies each week, mostly online orders, but this is by far the worst company I dealt with and by writing this review I'm trying to reach out to any potential customers to warm them to avoid this company at all costs. It is a pity that I haven't read the customer complaints on HelloPeter, before placing an order with them, since I am apparently not the only customer experiencing the same issues. To summarise, this was my experience to date: I have placed an online order on 19 May, for items which all had statuses of "xx Available for Delivery" where xx was the available quantity. Although I wanted less of the "available quantity" on one of the items in my cart, I even had to lower the quantity on the item in my cart, before it allowed me to continue with the checkout process. Shipping date was set to 24 May. In the meantime I've only received an order confirmation email and nothing else, no tracking number or any progress updates.
I was also unable to log on to my account on their website to check progress; I got error messages trying to set and reset my password. Eventually that was sorted, but on the My Orders page, to date, my order still does not reflect - message on page: "You have placed no orders."
On the 24th (proposed delivery date) I phoned them to get an update on the order. Person I spoke to said that he will get back to me and later sent a message: "we had a system glitch and your order was not processed due to the that error from our side, I will request the store to quickly replace the order and schedule it for the nearest delivery date." He also requested that I send them a PoP, which I did. Later I've emailed them and asked if they received the PoP, no reply until the 25th: "I will speak to the store and have them push delivery." All quiet until the 27th, when the reply was: "I was advised that there is an item short which they are trying to source it from Boksburg I am waiting for feedback if they have found it." Nothing after that.
I contacted them on the 30th again and was told that they don't have stock of anything I've ordered and I tried to explain again that the items still show as "Available for Delivery" on their website and the available quantities are more than what I've ordered and asked them to let me know which item(s) were not available. They got back to me and said that nothing was available and they can only supply it in different colours, which does not make sense, because I've ordered natural anodised aluminium profiles - they don't even list different colours on their website? The other option was to wait for stock from suppliers or to cancel the order. I then asked to speak to a manager and that was the last I've heard from the agent I was communicating with.
By then I decided to check if they were listed on HelloPeter, just to learn that many other customers had similar experiences dealing with them. After reading a couple of reviews I realised that the best option would be to cancel the order. I've used their website's contact us option and requested cancellation twice over the last couple of days to which I have not had any feedback yet and I've also phoned them again on the 1st of June and requested an order cancellation as well as confirmation that the order will be cancelled, but to date I have not received any confirmation whatsoever.
In the meantime all the items I've tried to order are still available on their website - they have not even updated the available quantities, for the apparent "out of stock" items, probably just to play the same game with the next customer.
Spare yourself the frustration and avoid dealing with Leroy Merlin!
