*****, unprofessional & dishonest.

Avoid this company!

I asked Leopard Movers to collect my delivery from Amber Valley in Howick - a well known housing estate of over 750 units. Leopard Movers arrived in a big 8 ton truck, and unsurprisingly were told that the truck was too big to enter the housing estate, as it would damage the roads. One would think an established moving company like Leopard would know which mega housing estates require smaller trucks for collection, or at the very least, if Leopard is going to collect with an XL 8 tonner vehicle, to call ahead to check if this will be a problem.

Leopard Movers did neither of these. They arrived, found out they couldn't gain entry, and left. They only contacted me after they had left to advise me of this, and that they were claiming my 50% deposit. Sorry what??? Leopard uses an over-sized vehicle not suited for small domestic collections from housing estates, then pocket my deposit for their *****-up??? Not cool, not professional and not honest.

Owner Charles argues that I should carry the can because Leopard was unable to gain access to the collection point - in the small print in their terms & conditions apparently. But I am not not an expert in the removals industry, which Leopard apparently are. How can I possibly be expected to know that Leopard will be using an outsize 8 ton truck, that is too big to enter housing estates? And be punished for this by losing my 50% deposit?

This must have happened many times before, and Leopard have clearly failed to take any steps to ensure it doesn't happen again. Easier to just say "Ag sorry", and take people's deposits without rendering any service at all. It's may be easier, but it's also dishonest and an appalling way to treat customers. So I encourage potential customers to avoid Leopard Movers at all costs - I see numerous other reviews on Hello Peter concur with my assessment of them as unprofessional & dishonest
