I made a booking with Leopard Lodge and the Cubs in December last year for staff that were were at Medupi.

I liaised Directly with Quintin and did not book through any website other than his own. I phoned him to discuss the details of the accomodation and he assured me that we would have two units for our 5 employees and that no one would have to share a bed (a company policy). He sent me an invoice WITHOUT cancellation terms and I paid a 50% deposit to confirm the booking.

Quintin then sent me a message regarding the types of vehicles we were driving and said “you shouldn’t have an issue on the road”. At the time I wasn’t sure what this mean, but as it turn out the municipality had been busy with the roads and the dirt road has been transformed into DEEP, SOFT Sand. He also told me to call him should there be any issues.

Our car and bakkie got stuck on the road and had to be winched out by a ‘rescue’ team and the could not continue down the road. I contact Quintin and explained that due to the fact that we couldn’t gain access to the accommodation. I did say that I would pay for the first night as it was very late when we established that we couldn’t not gain access.

Quintin rep**** with cancellation terms; not his own and said they app**** because I had booked through a website (which I had not). I had to arrange additional accommodation and have now paid TWICE for 4 nights of accommodation. I have chosen to ignore the fact that he falsely advertised the accommodation and did not provide us with what he promised, but cannot overlook the fact that he will no reimburse me despite the fact that my staff and vehicles could not even gain access to his premises. I find this incredibly unprofessional and consider it theft.

He has chosen to ignore my communication with him and I wish to now escalate this as I do not want other people to suffer the same fate. Please consider removing him from your website as this kind of business practice may affect your business in the coming months.
