Sub-service

On the 22 December 2016, my Bmw 320i exclusive was serviced at BMW Leo Haese Centurion.

When I brought the car in, in the morning, I did mentioned that there was a noise coming from the front, sounding like some wheel bearing was spinning out of control and that was clearly explained to the service consultant ... and therefor I requested inspection to be done.

About 10 minutes later after I have left the dealership, I got a call from the service consultant assuring me that the noice was just a minor thing coming from the middle air vent inside the car.

When collecting the car that same afternoon I did ask about the reported noise and the service consultant maintains that the noise was not coming from any pully or engine part.

I also mentioned that I was driving down to Durban on 23 December 2016 and the service consultant assured me that I had nothing to worry about ...

On the 8 January 2017, the noise became too much on inspecting the engine surroundings I noted that there were pieces of metals below air compressor pully ... since the car is out of maintanance plan ... I took the car to a private mechanic and he replaced the air compressor pully and the noise had since gone and the car drives live new ...

My main concern is that the dealership never bored to do proper troubleshooting even when I did pointed them to the issue ... I feel cheated as my safetely was seriously compromised ...

Note:

The reason why I never took the car back to the dealership, it is because I had lost confidence with them and felt cheated ... was also seeking second opinion

I would greatly appreciate if the matter can be investingated further ...

Very frustrated,

Mduduzi Ngema
