My turn for a review…… if I could rate it -10 I would

I have been hosting with lekkeslaap for 9 years. The treatment revived from lekkerlslaap as a host is unacceptable, a guest cancelled their reservation on Easter weekend which is peak season for establishments all over the country. Yes there is state of disaster in KZN with the floods, however our property is 500 m from the free state border and 300 km from the flooding. Lekkerslapp find it’s acceptable for the Guest to cancel/postpone their booking because of the flooding which is 300 km away from us. They also find it acceptable to send threatening legal wording and screenshots of the government gazette to make it clearer that the policies we have in place on their website and the guests booking form mean nothing and they can do as they see fitting, whilst taking a huge percentage of bookings. Surely after covid and lockdown you understand the need for cancellation policies, I may as well have not even bothered to book the cottage for Easter because that’s exactly what’s it come to. Yes it might a minor amount for them, but if our policy fits all other accommodation platforms and they find it acceptable what makes lekkerslaap any different. We are listed with many many online platforms who take commission and we in turn provide the guest with what is expected, none of them have as disappointing as lekkerslaap.
