Accommodation Serene Place Oosthuizen str Florida Roodepoort.

On 27/03/2026 we made a booking at Serene Place Florida Roodepoort in Oosthuizen str. Via Lekka slaap At arrival we had to pay and then see the rooms.We were initialy booked in room 4 but the reception told us that they have a slite problem with a water leak. Another option was then room 5. Off we went to room 4 and found towls rapped around the base of the toilet ,soaking wet. I said this will not do as this could be a HEALTH risk? We then went to room 5 and at the entrance I notice the door frame is rusted and I mean rusted. The door leading to the garden had a crack in the wall next to the door frame and my hand could fit in there. The bathroom is not up to any standard.The guy from reseption then told us that there is another problem and that their might not be poiwer and we will have to shower in cold water.He also offered to bring us a bugget of hot water should we prefer not to shower in cold water. We rejected all and phoned Lekke slaap to inform them to cansell and return the money paid. Since that day up to now varius phone calls to Lekke slaap was made to have the money returned with no avail. In the front porch is a 4 STAR rating for this accommodation. I was born in Roodepoort grew up there and my Daughter lives in the complex next to Serene Place for 25 years ,witch was in olden days Mojadjie House. The photos of Serene house , the garden and swimming pool is true, but this is not the rooms presented to us, making this advert falseand the rating has now referance to the true facts. We , Mayleen Hellyer wants her money returned to her as we had to go and make a booking at another place. Lekke slaap must investigate all there accommodation advertised and give the true picture. I trust this will reach the owner of Serene Place and they/ he / she will do the correct thing as to refund us. Life partner to Mayleen. Michael Basson ***
