LPA - Below Zero Service

WARNING I would like to warn people on how LPA works and treats their signed up customers. We signed up in 2018 with lots of promises. Easy exchanges including international , large variety of options for accommodation. Well that is the first that has not materialised. Whenever we ask for a exchange including one international exchange we can never get any decent places. The places we have stayed at have been not up to standard. The one place in Uvongo where we stayed was a problem as we could not sit on our balcony due to the people next to us smoking dagga all the time. People around the pool drinking alcohol in glass. How do you enjoy your holiday having to deal with that. Does not seem to be any controls on how people behave. We reported the issues but were told it is out of their control. That is just one example. With regards to finances and customer service it is below zero. We are threatened every year of being handed over from a month before the annual fee is due. This year we received our first message on the 31st March 2026 that the annual payment is due on 01 April 2026. I emailed LPA and asked them why i received the message as the payment is only due the end of April 2026. I was told it was a mistake, however every year we have the same message. We received another message on the 7th April 2026 advising us our payment was past due (their words) and we had to urgently before we get charged collection charges. In addition we received an email on the 8th April 2026 for additional R174.00 referred to as "Nominal Fee". We cancelled our agreement with LPA 22 April 2025 due to the way we have been treated and limited accommodation available. This cost was not included in the cancellation agreement. I will not pay it. Lots of sweet talking when a person signs up and then LPA becomes a nightmare and very threatening to try and get monies long before it is due. All I can recommend is that people look around at other options do not be talked into signing something that will become a horrific experience.
