Leisure Portfolio Association - LPA - Horrible Experience
I regret the day I fell into the trap of holiday clubs. It's a contract you can never get out of and when they invite you for a presentation. The sales people make you feel so important and they tell you all the things you need to hear to get you to sign the contract knowing that the contract you are given says otherwise. I was told by the consultant that the contract is safe and I can cancell it any time I want to. Now that I want to cancel they are telling me I have to pay about R26K to get out of the contract. No1, the service is horrible and I cannot even book for a holiday. No2, my work contract has expired and I will not have any source of income anymore but when I inform them of this. they are telling me about a clause in the contract that insist on me making the payment. They even suggested downgrading my package to something more affordable. What would be affordable when I don't have an income? I feel so ****** and cheated by Leisure Portfolio Association. What you are doing to people is wrong and people need to know about you.

I wonder how I'll pay for that with no income? Looking at all the reviews on LPA shows how many people they have ****med. I wish I could have checked them up before accepting their lies.

I've gone back on previous correspondence and our records show that an LPA expert has been in touch. Records show that you stated you unfortunately failed to read the termination clause in your LPA agreement before signing. The call recording I went through has you mentioning you didn't have time to go through the contract prior to signing it.
You signed a 15 year fixed term agreement knowing you do not have permanent employment, rather a temporary contract. Once your work contract came to an end you requested to cancel, without reading your termination clause in your signed contract.
You are in your right to cancel your LPA agreement, subject to an early termination penalty fee, as per your contract. If you do not wish to pay this fee, LPA will be happy to assist you with a financial arrangement when you have an income and able to continue paying for your portfolio. We'd love to find an amicable solution to send you and your family on your holiday.

Funny you are now failing to mention that. Just like last time, when I mentioned it to your agent (Geraldine in Bryanston ) who still assured me it's fine as I can terminate when my contract expires.
"You are in your right to cancel your LPA agreement" yes I am, "..subject to an early termination penalty fee.." What exactly is the amount based on when I never even used your service?

You may exit your agreement any time as there is an exit clause in your signed contract which allows you to cancel prematurely. Please read the whole clause in context. Please contact our head office should you require another copy of your agreement so an expert can go through it with you an answer any questions you may have. You may terminate your agreement once the contract term has expired too. You also have the option to renew it. If, however, you decide to exit once it has expired, there will be no termination penalty as you have honoured the full term of the agreement.
