Do NOT sign up!

If you are considering signing up with LPA - DON'T!

In October 2014, while on holiday at the resort we booked using our QVC points, a smooth-talking salesman convinced us to move our portfolio to LPA. Since then we have had nothing but trouble with their accounts, particularly their annual porfolio fee, which on it's own would probably be enough to pay for accommodation that we would have the freedom to book ourselves, at a time and place that suits us.

The first annual fee we were billed for we unintentionally paid late due to circumstances beyond our control. They waited until AFTER payment had been made to slap on a collection fee, which meant that our week was still not available for use. We paid the "collection fee" with a little extra, which is just as well, because they slapped on another "collection fee" on top of the original collection fee, which they are still "investigating".

Our second year was remarkably incident-free.

Now, in our third year, they invoiced us an estimated amount in April for the annual fee. According to our contract, we should be invoiced on 01 September and payment is due by 30 September. On 05 September we paid the full amount on the only invoice that was provided to us, that being the estimated amount. Once again, AFTER we had made full payment, they then charged another "collection fee", calling it late payment, and stating that payment was due by 01 September, which is NOT what is specified on our contract.

To make matters worse, in December (three months later!) they recalculated the annual fee and now say that we owe them an additional amount after the recalculation. So our week is STILL not available.

My impression is that they will do anything to ***** as much money as possible out of their clients and make it as hard a possible for us to actually make use of a service we have paid dearly for.

After a lengthy (recorded) phone call, the consultant has agreed that the late-collection-fee should not have been billed, and has undertaken to have it reversed by tomorrow.
As for the addtional amount on the annual fee - that was apparently recalculated late due to an "unfortunate incident" and they say it is still due. I do not agree as their unfortunate incidents are not my responsibility.
