Dishonest business practice

Unfortunately my recent experience with Leimers has forced me to write this review. I have been searching for a Discovery 3 V8 for nearly 2 years at this point and I'm very disappointed that a sale was grabbed like this from under me.

I contacted Leimers about a Land Rover they had for sale. After speaking to the salesman (Alex), I confirmed before 2 pm on 13 August that I would take the vehicle. He sent me an invoice with my details on it, and I was ready to make immediate payment.

An hour later, I was suddenly told that another “supplier” was also interested in the same vehicle, and that he would be coming to view it the next morning at 10 am. If that person did not take the car, only then would I be able to proceed. I found this very unprofessional and dishonest. If a customer has already committed to purchase, provided all details, and been issued an invoice/quote, the deal should be honored. Instead, I was left hanging without clarity, waiting for someone else’s decision, and by 12pm 14 August I still had not heard anything back from Leimers.

This is extremely poor business practice, especially when dealing with customers who are cash in hand and serious about buying. I have supported Leimers in the past and even attended their auctions, but after this experience I will refrain from doing any further business with them. I will also advise other Land Rover owners not to do business with Leimers based on this experience. I will search for my Disco elsewhere.
