Lay-by that wasn't even mine

I lost my license November last year. In December I get a call from legit in Zeerust saying that I need to come collect my clothes that were on lay-by. Mind you I'm based in joburg and I've never been to zeerust my whole life. I explained to them that I lost my license a month ago but they kept insisting that I must come get the clothes. My issue is how do you even assist a customer, take down their details, license and not look to see if the face matches the picture on the license card? How did they even allow this person to lay-by clothes with a license that's not theirs? I've been trying to get ahold of the headquarters but no luck. I'm disgusted by legit and it's ***** service
