I am lodging this complaint regarding how T Jina handled and closed my legal query under reference CVL***8. I approached LegalWise for assistance with a dispute involving my local municipality concerning building‑plan deviations, accumulated penalties, and threats to disconnect water and electricity at my primary residence. LegalWise issued a “Consultation Report” stating “Advice rendered. Conclusion: Member understood.” However, based on both the report and subsequent written communication, no substantive legal advice was provided. The assistance rendered consisted of:

Informing me that the matter is excluded due to “business activity”, based solely on my initial wording referring to a ****a shop Suggesting that I lodge a municipal complaint or negotiate payment Declining to assess the approved building plans or consider my clarifications that:

No business is operating on the property The approved plans reflect a garage forming part of my primary residence The dispute relates to plan deviations and municipal penalties, not business operation

Despite repeated requests, LegalWise refused to analyse the plans or reassess the matter and equated refusal and generic suggestions with “legal advice”. I find it misleading and unsatisfactory that a file can be closed as “advice rendered” when no legal analysis, opinion, or guidance was given, particularly in a matter involving the risk of loss of essential municipal services. Outcome sought: A clear explanation of how LegalWise defines “legal advice” in this context, or acknowledgment that the matter was closed without substantive legal advice being provided.
