In January twenty seventeen, Legally Armed in Roodepoort gave a quotation over the telephone to the owner of an unwanted firearm (from the owner's mother's estate) to handle the firearm. The quotation was for approximately one thousand rands. The attorney, who was the agent of the executor, then received an invoice for approximately two thousand rands. The original figure was doubled for supposed services not mentioned over the telephone, including fees for 'Estate Admin', 'Estate SAPS docs per firearm' or 'Estate Courier'. When this was pointed out, Legally Armed ignored the owner's letter. The owner regards this sort of practice as dishonest and cannot recommend this company.
