WHY ARE APPEAL PROCEDURES NOT OPERATIONAL AT THE LPC

APPEAL PROCEDURES GAZETTED BUT NOT OPERATIONAL Complaints against Attorneys to the LPC are sent to Investigation Committees who then make decisions . If the complainant is not satisfied with a decision , by law the complainant is entitled to have the matter go through an Internal Appeal Process within the LPC . However , the Ministry of justice has not yet set up the administrative structures to enable this to happen and so in effect Appeals against decisions to not sanction an Attorney cannot be considered at all and the LPC just fobs the complainant off to the High Court which is too costly a procedure for most citizens to undertake . Investigation Committees must be aware of this and thus they can make decisions ( ie letting Attorneys off the hook ) without fear of consequences This is a shocking state of affairs
