Unfairly treatment as I was told I am not their client

I am writing to formally express my frustration and disappointment regarding the handling of my divorce case.I initiated this process in June 2024 when I signed the divorce papers at the Sheriff’s Office in Kempton Park.However despite my continuous efforts to follow up, my case remains unresolved due to negligence,lack of communication and mismanagement from those handling my case.

In November 2024,I reached out to the lawyer responsible for my case, only to be told that he had not yet received the documents from the Sheriff.After personally following up with the Sheriff’s Office,I was informed that the documents had been sent long ago.However my attempts to get clarity from the lawyer were ignored he consistently failed to respond to my calls and messages.

Three weeks ago,I raised a formal complaint with Legal Aid,only to be informed that my case had been transferred to a new person.I was given the name of the new representative handling my case and was assured that I would receive assistance.Unfortunately, this promise was not fulfilled. Despite calling and sending multiple follow-up emails,I received no response for two weeks.Only this morning did I receive an email stating that she is still waiting for documents from the Sheriff—documents that were supposedly sent long ago.

Now I am suddenly being told that I cannot be assisted because I am not the direct client and my soon-to-be ex-husband must be the one to follow up.This is unacceptable.My husband has moved on with his life is married traditionally and has no interest in assisting me with finalizing this process.Am I now forced to remain legally married to someone I separated from seven years ago simply because the system is failing me?

I demand immediate action on my case.If Legal Aid is unable or unwilling to assist me,I need a clear explanation of why my case has been neglected for so long and what alternative steps I can take to finalize my divorce
