Good Luck thinking you can find help at Legal Aid

Gosh definitely one of the worst experiences I have ever had to deal with. Found myself resigning from a company for a new job which wasn’t as good as it seemed and I never received money. Legal issues arose with my landlord due to not being able to meet my obligations so I seeked the help of Legal Aid to represent me. After being a tax payer for many years I expected some sort of decent service and advice. What I got was the opposite. You sit in reception for hours on hours whilst 2 consultants meet with you first to assess your case. During this time they head off to all different rooms, have fat chats with colleagues discussing their shoes and last nights activities. I unfortunately got a consultant named Lebogang who is clueless ... her voice resembles that of a mouse so you can’t understand a word she says. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about , clearly has no legal background and on my 2nd visit told me I hadn’t supp**** her what she requested, namely my bank statements. She is a **** , she is a ***** and most definitely can not do her job properly. I was eventually told my applications were not successful the day before my case was due to be heard in court so I had to scramble to find an attorney that would assist me. Thankfully I did.

I feel really sorry for those who don’t have any other option but seek the help of Legal Aid, especially the branch I visited in Benoni. Many hours wasted, to speak to incompetant employees. It’s a joke and I have absolutely no faith in this office.
