Your Mental Health Is More Important!
DEFINITELY DO NOT SUGGEST LEGACY!!! This was my first time renting a property and what a dreadful ordeal! They withheld my security payment for absolutely no justifiable cause other than the property owner instructing them to proceed with holding not paying me my deposit which was over R7000. I was leasing at 79 Fosdale Road Newlands West, this place has been broken into on many occasions and has a stream next to the house which turns into a river during heavy rain. I encountered several complications here, the property owner is not residing on the premises, his sibling resides adjacent (a complete affliction to coexist with, always passing comments to get a reaction out of me), the property owner's spouse repeatedly instructed me to "GET OUT" when I declared complications that were within my entitlements as a remunerating lessee. The manager, Kreston contacted me subsequent to posting a critique regarding Mariam my former property owner's kin, SOLELY TO PACIFY ME, and postured as if he was attempting to aid me, nonetheless requested me to eliminate the CRITIQUE, Hence my initial review was deleted in good faith. Submitting a new review again because I have now vacated the property and will be escalating the concern further. Avail yourselves of the HOUSING TRIBUNAL, they will provide support (Free) as this constitutes complimentary judicial assistance. Do not permit leasing firms like this one to exploit you! I possessed a management contract which signified absolutely nothing, my electronic mails were conveyed straight to the property owner by the firm, and their sole function is to relay the property owner's replies to you, THEY RENDER NO SUPPORT TO THE Lessee and will not respond to mails if you do not send constant reminders for a response. Heed my counsel and engage another agencies, I WILL UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES UTILIZE LEGACY AGAIN. @Kreston/Legacy, Please do not even trouble yourselves to dispatch your automated response to this critique. Numerous agencies exist out there. This one is a dissipation of time! They will assist you with procuring a residence indeed, subsequent to that you're autonomous with all your extant predicaments. Furthermore, I am not the singular individual who has lodged grievances concerning a misappropriated security payment or concerning the agent Mariam who exhibits no semblance of propriety like her family members at this domicile. I waited 2 months to get a working stove in place as the one there was faulty and extractor left burnt in place as the owners wife burnt the kitchen by leaving oil on the stove. Waited 10 months for gutters to be fixed, house had no downpipes, this was only done in December and there's no proper drainage system in place for those downpipes as it was only placed halfway down the walls on only 2 sides. When I complained to the landlord, see screenshot attached, he says if I am not happy I must leave and he will not hold me to any breach of lease, yet he did and eventually held back my security deposit. This place was in such a poor state, I did the razorwire fencing all around, I sectioned off areas for the dog. Very poorly maintained property, this landlord will also make you source and haggle service providers when it's not your job as the tenant to get things done after reporting to your "management lease😂" Landlord does not want to pay service providers who came out to do a job. See all screenshots attached. Correct wiring not used in this house which poses a fire risk. Take my advice or not, MANY OTHER RENTAL COMPANIES OUT HERE, even check marketplace Facebook as you will save on agency fees. Thank you legacy for the worst rental experience of my life, i will never use your company ever again.
