Purchasing of pre-owned BMW
I signed an OTP on a pre-owned BMW on 19th August 2026 with Mr Abri Venter. The vehicle just came in and did not undergo the inspection checks and had a lot of stone chips to be repaired. On 21th August I signed another OTP as the previous expired. Mr Abri Venter wanted me to pay a deposit, which I refused until I have seen the vehicle following the stone chip repair as was agreed with him when I signed the first OTP. I was told the vehicle would be ready on 24th August 2026. I told Mr Venter that I will be out of town from 25th August 2026 and he assured me that the vehicle will be ready so I can come in and do inspection and then pay the deposit. I contacted Mr Venter again on the 24th August 2026 to inspect the vehicle but it was not ready. Mr Venter assured me that all is arranged, and we agreed that my wife will visit them to have a look at the stone chip repair before payment is done. On 25th August 2026 I contacted Mr Venter again and he confirmed that my wife can view the vehicle and pay the deposit on 26th August 2026. My wife was on her way from Jhb to Pta on the 26th August 2026 when Mr Vented phoned me and said the DP (Mr Uwe Ludwig) sold the vehicle to someone else. I asked that the DP phone me and Mr Venter indicated that the DP dont phone client's and I should phone him. This is the worst service that I ever experienced at BMW and after keeping me on line for almost a week, the DP decided to sell the vehicle to someone else. It is clear that BMW Menlyn put a sale before customer service. I purchased my previous BMW's from Menlyn but won't put my foot in that dealership again. Pathetic customer service !!!!!
