Thieving rental estate agent, namely Genesis Group's Property Rental division in Honeydew Ridge
<p>I rented a 3x bedroom apartment through an agent namely Cecil Burgess at Genesis Group's property rental division in Honeydew Ridge. When I vacated the property 6 months later, he didn't refund my deposit of R5500 including my compensation for installing a DSTV dish and cabling to the open plan lounge and two bedrooms whereas it was arranged with him that this would be compensated an improvement. I followed with the Principal but I was told that he had left their employment and even they have not refunded my deposit as yet despite promising to investigate it. I am very aggrieved and I wonder as to how many other tenants are ****** of their hard earned monies in the form of rental deposits.</p>

Genesis do not withold any deposits on there own accord as deposits is Trust Money that is kept in a individual intrest bearing Account for each Tenant. A deposit can only be withold by a Landlord if there was damages caused to a property or arrears Rental monies.
