LEATHER GALLERY SELLING **** ITEMS
I have always had the dream of buying a lounge suit from Leather Gallery and this year i was able to fulfill it. I bought their expensive couches worth R63 000 and a mirror worth R10 000 plus on top of that a coffee table worth R10 000. I was happy when my furniture arrived and set up by their delivery team, it was the happiest day of my life. Later that day we found out that the 3 seater couch was had a broken foot, were too disappointed because we thought this furniture was high quality. We took picture and sent it to the sales person and they organize for the couch to be replaced the next day. That incident alone left doubts in me and my wife's head as we started to question the quality of Leather Gallery's exorbitantly priced furniture. The following week my 3 year old son was playing in the living room and sat on the marble table we bought from leather gallery and it broke into pieces. We were stunned as to how a small 3 year old has the weight to break a brand new thick marble table. Are they selling authentic quality products? are they taking mediocre **** products and passing them off as quality and putting a hefty price tag on them just to **** people? Anyway luckily we had a video of the incident and we sent it to the sales person to assist. Leather Gallery refused to replace it and they said we must pay R899 so they can put a glass top on the coffee table which we feel is unfair on our part. Why are they selling **** items in the first place? Why are they expecting customers to pay them more money for repairs after the customers had already spent close to R100K in their shop? Do they care about customers or just want to take their money and run? I will never trust this shop again ever in my life and i will neither make any future purchases from them nor recommend it to those close to me.
Please note that the Francesca Coffee table you purchased is a marble look table and not genuine marble, this is stipulated on your invoice. The marble look fits onto the frame of the base.
It appears from the video the child lent against the table and shifted the table top backwards into the base hence causing only one side of the top to be supported on the opposite end of the frame. This conclusion was reached after viewing the video and your wife acknowledged that your child broke the table top.
A coffee table is not designed to be sat on, especially a glass, faux marble or marble. We value you as a customer and a client, we feel it is unfair for you to expect Leather Gallery to take sole responsibility for the breakage of your table top.
We tried to find a inexpensive solution for you by replacing your broken table top with a glass top.
In good faith we have been and are still prepared to assist, and we suggest you communicate with the support team.
Kind Regards
