Genuine leather sofa cracking

<p>I bought a full leather lounge set in Oct 2013 from Leather gallery Richards Bay. I received a certificate stating that the lounge set is a full leather product. It was accompanied with a 1 year factory warranty and a 2 year extended warranty as required by the consumer protection act. the lounge set is regularly cleaned and conditioned with leather galleries leather conditioner. In the past few months, my 3 seater sofa started showing signs of cracking and has become much worse over time. I contacted leather gallery and had to pay a call out fee for their technician to come and inspect the sofa. According to the technician, he has not seen a leather sofa crack in this way. He took his feedback to the owners of leather gallery and the feedback i received is that they are not going to do anything about my sofa because they do not know what transpierd in the last 3 years. I will need to contact a leather upholstere and have it repaired. What is the purpose of the warranty, if they are not going to honour it. What is the purpose of a genuine leather product certificate, if i am questioning the quality of the leather? Someone buys a leather lounge set with the expectation that it will last a lifetime and from a so called reputatble leather dealer, only to find that in less than 3 years the sofa is showing signs of wear. I have friends and family that have bought leather lounge sets from other furniture oulets and do not show any wear even after 10 years. Please do not buy leather products from leather gallery, as the products and business ethis is questionable.</p>
