We rented out our West Rand property for 3 years and 8 months to the most inept and evasive bunch of agents under the auspices of "guaranteed income". Eager to the smell of business but pathetic at best, will be an understatement. The first 2 years went well with quarterly visits for the 1st year as promised. Thereafter the tenant jippoed the electricity untill we had to tell them to go there and sort out. Then we got tenants in that destroyed the place completely and when we needed eviction, were told it will cost you ----- much without batting an eyelid. The following tenants we were told prequalify on the 1 partner's income alone and we therefore have guaranteed income. 2 Months in we got told not, they did not sign the debit order form and therefore the guarantee is revoked. We also had to struggle with late payments and dragging of feet when it came to admin tasks. Inevitably, no exit inspection was held when the property was sold, costing us thousands to fix up again. They even refused to answer telephone calls. Please be careful dealing with them or you too will be left with a bitter experience.
